Jesus does not call us out of the world. Instead, he calls us into an alternative community He creates where the lost can be rescued from the powers of darkness and the coming judgment. He calls us to lay down our “nets” and with urgency join him in the fishing trip of a lifetime. This is where we get to fish lost people out of the sea of chaos and destruction. Jesus calls me to follow because someone's life depends on it.
